I work with people who think deeply, feel intensely and move differently through the world. As a neurodivergent, queer and bicultural (Vietnamese-Canadian) therapist, I know what it’s like to move between cultures, expectations and identities. If you’re tired of feeling lost, being misunderstood and pretending everything is okay, you’re in good company. Therapy with me is about showing up as you are, unpacking what’s heavy, and finding a way forward on your terms. Whether it’s neurodivergence, identity, emotions or relationships, we’ll move through it together. My style blends warmth, humour and directness. I’ll support you when it's hard and challenge you when it’s needed. Clients often share that our work leaves them feeling seen, supported, and more confident in who they are. If this resonates with you, let’s connect.
I offer a free 15 minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.

I was born in Vietnam and immigrated to Canada with my family as a toddler. As the eldest daughter, I had many roles: translator, caregiver, cultural bridge, and emotional anchor. My parents made tremendous sacrifices, leaving behind everything they knew to create opportunities for our family. With those sacrifices came high expectations, which I worked hard to navigate. At times, I felt the weight of being everything to everyone while trying to find my place in a world that didn’t always make space for me. Growing up, my interests and personality clashed with traditional gender roles, and I was labelled a “tomboy.” As a teen, I questioned the conventional boxes of gender and sexuality, feeling like I didn’t fit neatly into any of them. Moving away to attend university was a turning point, where I found a supportive community, and began to explore and embrace my queer identity. In my late twenties, I was diagnosed with ADHD, which brought another layer of self-understanding. It helped me make sense of my challenges but also brought grief for the years I struggled without the support I needed. Embracing my neurodivergence helped me see my diagnosis not as a deficit, but rather a difference in thinking. It taught me to practice self-compassion, prioritize self-care, and work with my brain rather than against it.
These experiences, along with my own therapy journey, inspired me to become a psychologist. Before joining Ko Psychology, I developed my skills and perspective through roles in private practice, non-profit, and community health settings, deepening my understanding of clients’ diverse needs and approaches to therapy.Outside of work, I stay connected to what inspires and energizes me. Fitness is a big part of my self care. I love weightlifting, with the occasional yoga session or round of golf. I’m always exploring new places, ideas and hobbies. I love eating good food, playing video games and dancing at music festivals. At home, my partner and our dog, Luna, bring balance and joy to my life.
Therapy with me is relational, collaborative, and human. I bring my full self to our work and invite you to do the same. I take a holistic view of mental health, considering how your mind, body, relationships and environment shape your experiences. My practice is culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, and unapologetically affirming of neurodivergent, queer and racialized experiences. I recognize the complexity of living with multiple intersecting identities. I’m also conversationally fluent in Vietnamese and can offer a language bridge when helpful.
I take an integrative approach to therapy adapting to your unique needs, and lived experiences. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, and experiential therapy. DBT offers practical skills to help you stay present, manage stressors, regulate emotions, and strengthen relationships. Narrative therapy explores the stories you’ve carried, helping us uncover your strength and resilience and co-create more empowering perspectives. Experiential therapy invites embodied awareness through active, creative and reflective activities, which can be especially helpful if you tend to overthink or intellectualize.
